The Mysterious Ice Treasure

“Hurry up! We are already late”, Sophie said panting.

She and her friends were going to Russia to solve their third mystery. Sophie, Anna, Lily, Daisy and Zoe made up their team “Mystery Gang”.

They were running to the airport to catch their plane. Finally, they reached on time and sat down on their seats. After few hours of a wonderful journey through the mesmerizing clouds, they had finally reached Russia!

 There should not be any problem, so they had already reserved a room in a famous hotel. A lady took them towards their room.

The room was enchanting! It had once been an attic, and had exposed ceiling beams. The wallpaper was pale pink with fuchsia stripes. There were five gentle, cute beds. The canopy beds had light curtains too. The blanket that covered each bed was dark blue with tiny pink designs. It looked beautiful. They could even see a whole lake from the window side.

However, they were quite tired and fell asleep soon. The next day, they were ready to solve the mystery. Anna had come with a map the previous day before they left. She told them that she found it in a strange chest near her house. The map looked quite old and mentioned about Russia. It had written a fortune too.

It said,

            “For five girls it is,

             No one may find this.

             Only the mysterious five can.

             For others this is banned.”

 It was a little tricky, but they were five and together had done many things that no one else could. “This looks like a treasure map”, Anna said thoughtfully. They never had found a treasure before. They all could give it a try. So, to solve this they came to Russia.

“I think we should follow the map”, said Lily. “Maybe we can find something.”

“Hey, that’s an ‘X’ mark, right?” Sophie said. “It means that the treasure is located at this ‘X’ place!”

So the five friends followed the map. First, they had to cross the Bailey city. Then, they came across a frozen lake.

 Because of the cold, their skin was dry and they were hungry too. Smart Daisy had packed some good food from the hotel and Lily had got some moisturizing cream for them. When all were ready to go they started to follow the map again.

After 3 hours, they still could not get to the “x” mark. Anna was so disappointed that she sat down on an ice covered rock with a huff. Suddenly, the rock started to move. In fact, it was not a rock, it was an Ice Train! It was the color of White and had many buttons on it. There were exactly five seats with a seat belt each. Slowly it started moving ahead.

“Hey! Catch that train! Even the map has the same mark of the train. It can lead us to the treasure.” Zoe exclaimed. They jumped on the rushing train and wore their seat belts.

“But how did it start?” asked confused Sophie. “I think that when Anna sat on it, she must have hit some button, accidently starting it”, answered Lily giggling.

The train led them to a big cave. “I think this is where we should search for the treasure chest”, Daisy said examining the map. Hyperactive Anna was so excited that she ran inside the cave without anyone.

“Wait a second, What does that mean Zoe?”, Sophie asked pointing to a strange drawing . “I really don’t know”, Zoe replied casually. A few seconds later, Anna came running out with a scared face. All of a sudden, the earth shook. A big white bear came out with her.

This bear was not any ordinary bear. It had spines and furs both. The eyes of it were red too. It was double the size of an ordinary bear.  It looked like a monster only. It growled louder than a megaphone. All of them had a distance. “Who dares to enter my cave?”, it said angrily.” “I am the guardian of this place, and won’t let anyone go inside. Only the five mysteries are allowed.”

“She is talking about us”, whispered Lily. “Everyone, be careful”, exclaimed Daisy.  Sophie was not scared but instead went near the bear. The bear found something special in her. She was brave and courageous, she was exactly the same. Sophie petted the bear. “I apologize to you. I’m pleased to see you, the mysterious five.”

“So, are we friends now?”, Zoe asked. The bear nodded and said, “I would be glad to take you to the treasure”. “Thank you dear friend”, Sophie said politely. Now the bear was their guide and took them inside.

After walking in the dark cave for a while, the bear growled loudly. Suddenly, the cave was lit up by fire torches. When they saw ahead, there were eight different ways to go. “Now what?”, frowned Daisy.

“Follow me”, the bear said. It took them to a vast throne. In front of it was the same ‘X’ mark. “Now, sing the fortune together”, the bear told eagerly.

  Then, they all chanted the fortune like a spell in a beautiful tune. Suddenly, the mark opened wide. A treasure chest shone brightly and magically opened.

 It had jewels, crowns, gold coins and many diamonds too. “It is really treasure!”, they all exclaimed. “But what can we do with it”, Anna frowned. “I have an idea!”, Sophie said. It was really a great idea.

“The girls have decided to give the treasure to the country of Russia!”, a reporter announced aloud. All they could hear were happy screams.

Instead of the treasure they enjoyed the Russian winter games like curling, skiing, ice skating, and many more. They knew the gold was of no use to them so they decided to give it to the country for a better improvement.

The government of Russia awarded them one of the world’s newest title “Youngest Researchers”. They were really the youngest researchers ever found.

Now, they are enjoying in Russia in their cozy beds for free. :)
