It is believed that there
was darkness everywhere when the universe did not exist,
Devi Kushmanda smiled and the light of her
smile created the universe.
After creating The universe, Devi created the first beings,
She created the 3 most
powerful supreme Maha Devis, namely. Maha Kaali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati.
It is believed that
Devi Kushmanda First took the Taamasa element from her body and created Goddess
Mahakali, a ferocious form Devi Durga.
Secondly, She took out
the Rajasa element, and created another beautiful Devi, and named her Maha Lakshmi who represents
worldly comforts.
And finally, she took
out the Saatvik element, and created an extremely benevolent form and named her
Maha Saraswati represents divinity and knowledge.
Later Devi Kushmanda
blessed these three Mahadevis with 2 kids each,
a boy and a girl who is as powerful as Devi Kushmanda herself.
So Maha Kaali gave a
birth to Shiva and Saraswati
Mahalakshmi gave
birth to Bramha (Chatrumukha Bramha) and Lakshmi
MahaSaraswati gave
birth to Vishnu and Shakti(Gowri)
Then Devi Kushmanda
offered Shakti to Shiva, Sarawati to
Brahma, Lakshmi to Vishnu
Thus it is believed, Devi
Kushmanda is the form of Shakti who created the entire universe.
So that was the short
